Some of the foods that we eat every day have facts that we didn’t even know about it.
And despite checking food packets and really looking closely into what we eat, we miss out these facts for two reasons. One: they don’t come in food packages and it details, for instance, fresh fruits. Two: we don’t pay close attention to it.

10: BANANAS ARE BERRIES
How many of you knew it? Scientifically speaking, it’s actually a fact that Bananas belongs to the berry family.
The most common belief is that strawberries and raspberries originate from berry family but to your surprise, they do not actually belong to berry family.

09: KETCHUP AS A MEDICINE
Yes, you read it right. Back in 1834, Dr. John Cooke added tomatoes to ketchup.
Earlier, ketchup was made up of mushroom or fish. After introducing tomatoes, Dr. John Cooke claimed that tomato ketchup can cure Diahrea, indigestion, Jaundice, and Rheumatism.

08: PEANUT BUTTER FOR NO-TEETH FOLKS
Did you know that the modern peanut butter was invented as a source of protein for people having no teeth?
Back in the days, patients were served peanut butter as it was easy to consume and didn’t require to chew it.

06: LOBSTERS AND OYSTER USED TO BE SERVANTS FOOD
Back in the days, lobsters and oysters were considered just sea insects and often were chucked back into the sea or was served to servants as it wasn’t considered worth for human consumption.
There used to be a law on how much lobster you can serve to prisoners as too much of it was considered cruel.
Fast forward today, now people pay hand over fist to restaurants to taste this food.
